Arend John Bos, 98, of Boyden, died Thursday, July 1 in a nursing home in Hull.

Services were Tuesday at the First Reformed Church of Boyden. Burial was in the Boyden Cemetery.

Mr. Bos was born March 8, 1884, in Kompen, The Netherlands. He married Harmpje Boer on April 26, 1906 in the Netherlands. She preceded him in death on May 13, 1962.

Mr. Bos was a carpenter in the Netherlands and farmed in the Boyden area. He was a member of the First Reformed Church.

Survivors include two sons, Gerrit of Mariloma, CA, and Gerrit John of Fayette, MO; eight daughters, Mrs. Henry (Dena) Klaarenbeek of Steen, MN, Mrs. Burt (Bertha) Bliek of Rock Valley, Mrs. Gerrit (Minnie) Klarenbeek of Wilmer, MN, Mrs. Gerrit (Henrietta) Korthals of Boyden, Mrs. Edward (Alice) Koele of Hull, Mrs. Clarence (Lena) Groen of Doon, Mrs. Louis (Johanna) Freerks of Long Beach, CA, and Mrs. John (Carrie) Koele of Clinton, WI; 56 grandchildren; 114 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; 36 step-great-grandchildren and 19 step-great-great-grandchildren.
