'... My Great Grandmother, Mabel Lutz lived on a 1000 acre farm just outside of Dunkirk, Indiana and owned a cottage on Lake Martin (Her son Kenneth Leon Gregory lives there now). When Ray and Mabel were living on the farm in the prohibitionera, there is a story that Ray made beer and root beer, bottled it in canning jars, and placed both drinks in the same box. When the authorities came to check out the canning jars, they always asked Ray to pullout a canning jar and he ofcourse pulled out a root beer which prevented any action against him. Mabel was a lover of music and played organ. When I was young, I called her 'Grandma Grape' which stuck with her for the rest of her life. She sold off some of theland until these was only 60 acres left, before she sold the whole farm. She moved into Dunkirk across from her daughter, Dorothy (Gregory) Edwards. She was breifly married to Robert West (I unfortunately do not have any information onhim). He was a great guy and treated my grandmother well. After his death and sometime later her health deteriorated, she was moved into a nursing home where she died. I have not confirmed her burial site yet, before I am guessing it isin Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. ...'
