'Joseph Alvey left England on April 1, 1850 and arrived in New York in May. He filed his intent Feb 15, 1853. (DECLARATION OF INTENTION, Book 1). John Cullen and Vincent and Joseph Alvey, with other members of the family, are buried inHamilton Tp., Cullen Cem.'

The property was previously owned by Thomas Kirby who hired William Fox and John Fox as farm laborers. Kirby house was next door to Samuel DouglasClevenger, the grandfather of James R. Clevenger who m. 2nd wife Dora (Emma Isadora) Alvey in 1886.' - 15N1993
