Leroy Kuper, 71, of Ackley, died Wednesday, May 20 at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.

He was born at home in Franklin County on September 23, 1953 [sic] [should be 1943], the son of Folkert and Leola Neymeyer Kuper. On May 24, 1975 he married Marlene Heerkes.

Leroy graduated from Ackley High School in 1962 and was a member of West Friesland Presbyterian Church in Ackley. He was a farmer and hog buyer.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Brian (Dixie) and Brent (Stacie), both of Ackley; two grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene (Gary) Lindaman and Marlys (Jack) Wessels; and one sister-in-law, Cathy Kuper.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ronald.

Services 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Faith Presbyterian Church in Ackley, with burial in West Friesland Cemetery. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the church.

The Sietsma Funeral Home in Ackley is assisting the family.
