Funeral services for Harold A. Eisenhauer, 83, will be held Friday, April 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center. Rev. David Langer will officiate. Casketbearers will be his grandchildren: Jeffrey Giesman,Edward Giesman, Cynthia Giesman, Amy Eisenhauer, David Eisenhauer, Eric Eisenhauer, Adam Eisenhauer, Tina Eisenhauer, Tara Eisenhauer and Samantha Eisenhauer. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Buffalo Center. Harold passedaway Monday, April 1, 2002 at the Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center. Winter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Harold August Eisenhauer, son of August and Helen (Berschman) Eisenhauer, was born October 23, 1918 in Germania (Lakota). He received his education in Buffalo Center. He joined the army in 1942 and served during World War II in theEuropean Theater as a staff sergeant. He received the Purple Heart and the Normandy Invasion Medal. He was united in marriage to Pauline Boehm on July 3, 1943 hi Santa Anna, California. After returning from the service he moved back toBuffalo Center to farm northeast of town. In 1977 they moved to Buffalo Center. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and served on the church board. He also served on the board of the Cooperative Oil Company. He was a memberof the VFW and the American Legion for 52 continuous years. He loved farming until his retirement. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and cherished tune spent with his family. After retirement, he especially enjoyed"coffee tune" with his good friends.
Harold is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Pauline, of Buffalo Center; his children: Royce and his wife, Carolyn, of Lakewood, New York; Sharon and her husband, John Giesman, of Buffalo Center, Rodney and his wife, Linda, ofAppleton, Wisconsin; Steven and his wife, Heidi, of Rochester, Minnesota; Bruce and his wife, Lynn, of Evans, Colorado; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Jack Eisenhauer; four sisters: Ann Abels, Cora Abels, VelmaEisenhauer and Dorothy Caltvedt, all of Buffalo Center. "Soldier Takes a Bride
A quite wedding was performed July 3rd, at Santa Anna, California, when Pauline Boehm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Boehm of Lakota, Iowa, became the bride of Corporal Harold Eisenhauer, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Eisenhauer of thisplace. The double ring ceremony was read by the Rev. Harry Evan Quings.
The bride was attired in a deep turquoise street length dress with black accessories and with a white orchid corsage.
The bridesmaid, Vetrice Cook, a friend of the bride, wore old rose street length dress with black acceslorics.
The groom and his attendant, Pvt. Floyd Ellifson, wore their army uniforms.
Immediately after the ceremony a 6 o'clock dinner was served the wedding party at the Danigers Cafe. On the center of the table was a wedding cake decorated with a minature military decoration.
The groom had a three-day pass and he and Mrs. Eisenhauer honeymooned at Long Beach, California.
The bride is employed at the Douglas Aircraft factory at Long Beach."

"Pauline Eisenhauer
Pauline E. Eisenhauer, 92 of Buffalo Center, died Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Timely Mission Nursing Home, Buffalo Center. A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, with Reverend Brad Devries officiating at the First Congregational Church, Buffalo Center. Inurnment took place in Graceland Cemetery, Buffalo Center.
Pauline Edna Eisenhauer, the daughter of William (Gertie Janssen) Boehm, was born in rural Lakota, Iowa on May 5, 1924. She attended country school in the Lakota area through the eighth grade.
Pauline was married to Harold August Eisenhauer in Santa Ana, CA, on July 3, 1943. While in California, Pauline worked in an airplane factory as a riveter. When Harold was deployed overseas, Pauline moved back to Mason City to be closer to family and worked in a restaurant. When Harold returned from the war they moved back to Buffalo Center. She kept busy helping her husband on the farm, being a mother and doing interior painting and putting up wallpaper for local residents. She even traveled to South Carolina to paint for her brother.
She was an incredible woman with a quick wit and heart of gold. She possessed an unprecedented work ethic and drive to serve others. Pauline was a selfless woman, kind, considerate, compassionate, generous, open handed, the hardest working person who was never afraid of any kind of work and the glue that held the family together.
Pauline was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member and deaconess for the First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center and the Woman's Fellowship.
She is survived by her children, Royce (Carolyn) Eisenhauer of Kennedy, NY, Sharon (John) Giesman of Buffalo Center, IA, Rodney (Linda) Eisenhauer of Appleton, WI, Steven (Suzanne) Eisenhauer of Leroy, MN, Bruce (Chris) Eisenhauer of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Vanessa) Giesman, Amy (Ryan) Long, David Eisenhauer, Edward Giesman, Eric (Susan) Eisenhauer, Tina (Jason) Kozisek, grand-daughter-in-law, Rana Eisenhauer, Tara (Ryan) Nelson, Cynthia (Ben) Dontje, and Samantha Eisenhauer; great-grandchildren, Kylie Giesman, Frank Long, Stella Long, Louie Long, Hayes Eisenhauer, Henry Eisenhauer, Nora Eisenhauer, August Kozisek, Anastazia Kozisek, Brock Eisenhauer, Calvin Nelson, Margaret Nelson, Nicholas Dontje, Jenna Dontje, and Amanda Dontje; siblings, Fred Boehm of WI, Otto (Dorothy) Boehm of Buffalo Center, Rosie (Harvey) Nerdig of Buffalo Center, John Boehm of IL, Robert (Gracile) Boehm of MI, sisters-in-law, Elaine Boehm of Buffalo Center and JoAnn Boehm of SC; half-sister, Carole Schmidt of CO, as well as many other family and friends.
