Rose Navorska writes, "(Stories I heard.) Jim Bowles walked all the way out to the Hights following a load of lath 1893 hoping to find work. He was a lather.

In 1908 Uncle Jim sold everything and moved to Texas to raise fruit. I didn't work out.

Things were so bad in Brampton Ont. They couldn't find work so came back into Ohio. Found it was just as bad here. That was same time in or around 1893." - letter ca. 1980
