John E. Thomas, 79, died at 1 a.m. today at his home at Fresno following five yearsÙu illness.

He was born Oct. 11, 1875, in Adams township, a son of John A. and Mary Steiner Thomas.

On Sept. 8, 1896, he was married to Dale Hamilton, who survives, with two sons, Waldo and Dent Thomas, and two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Wentz and Mrs. Gladys Geese of Fresno, a foster-sister, Ella Philabaum, Canton, and six grandchildren.One son, one brother and one sister are deceased.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Fresno Methodist church and Modern Woodmen.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the residence in Fresno, with Rev. Paul Brodt officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery, Fresno.

Friends may call at the Bonnell funeral home, West Lafayette, from 7 to 9 this evening and at the residence in Fresno after 1 p.m. Wednesday. 2 Change Date: 20 Mar 2015 ...
