Carl K. Johnson, 89

Funeral services for Carl K. Johnson, 89, of Ledyard will be held Thursday, December 19, at 1:30 p.m. at Bethany E&R Church, with Rev. Larry Doughan officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Home Cemetery at Ledyard.

Visitation will be held 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, at the Bethany E&R Church, and one hour before services on Thursday. Winter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Music is furnished by Marion Brandt as organist and Wanda Blome as soloist. Caskctbearers are Denny Johnson, Alan Johnson, Irvin Johnson, Lamont Johnson, Edwin Dontje, Eldon Dontje, Marlyn Waltennan, Dennis Weringa, Art Wirtjes.

Carl K. Johnson, son of Karel and Grace (Wiegmann) Johnson, was bom April 20, 1907 at Kamrar, Iowa. He moved with his family to Ledyard in 1914 and lived in the area ever since.

On June 7, 1939, Carl was united in marriage to Anna Heyes at the Ramsey Reformed Church parsonage near Tilonka. Together they farmed at Gerled for 5 years and spent 43 years together on their last farm near Ledyard. They retired fromfarming in 1973 and in 1989, they moved into Ledyard.

Carl passed away on Monday, December 16, 1996 at North Iowa"
