Mrs. John Troff, Ledyard Farm Woman, Dies Jan. 24

Ledyard, Jan. 30—After a last sickness of only eight days Mrs. John Troff, 71, died at the Buffalo Central hospital last Thursday.

Mrs. Troff was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed church here, and funeral services were held there Monday, the Rev. E. P. Nuss, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Troff was born at Ostfriesland, Germany, Apr. 17, 1874, but came to this country in 1900, settling at Kamrar, near Webster City. She was married in 1901, and the couple came here to reside on a farm which has been the family homeever since.

Mr. Troff died while the children were still young, but Mrs. Troff carried on the work of the farm with the help of the older children. During her later years she had to endure much sickness and was several times at death's door.

Five sons survive: Hemme, Aeilt, Joe, Peter, and John Jr., and two daughters, Mrs. Herman Dontje and Mrs. Fred Groen, all of Ledyard. There are also 20 grandchildren and four sisters of Mrs. Troff survive; Mrs. Carl Johnson, Lakota,Henricka, Germany; Mrs. Ben Klausen, Hancock, Min.; and Mrs. Robert Simmons; Dakota.
