"Edward Jerry Sonnenberg, 88

Funeral services for Edward Jerry Sonnenberg, 88, of Titonka were held Tuesday afternoon, May 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Ramsey Reformed Church, rural Titonka with Dr. James Chambers of First United Presbyterian Church of Lakota officiating.Interment was in Ramsey Reformed Cemetery, rural Titonka, with Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home of Titonka in charge of arrangements. Mr. Sonnenberg died Sunday, May 24, 1992 at Forest City Community Hospital, Forest City.

Norma Tapper was the organist and a trio consisting of Yvonne Rippentrop, Donna Dreeseman and Wilda Ubben sang. The congregation also joined in singing.

Casketbearers were Rollin Wempen, Daniel Beenken, Mark Beenken, Duane Wempen, Dr. David Grimes and Darrel Sonnenberg.

Edward Jerry Sonnenberg was born February 11, 1904 on the farm near Titonka, the son of Henry and Grace (Sathoff) Sonnenberg. He attended country school and then worked on the family farm.

Ed was married to Margaret Wempen on November 16, 1935 at Blue Earth, Minnesota. They moved to their farm north of Titonka where they lived until retiring and moved into Titonka in 1969. Ed had a great love of the land, and enjoyedgardening and fishing. Ed was an Elder and Deacon in his church. He and Margaret loved to travel, as they took many bus tours.

Ed is survived by his wife, Margaret; a son, Russell, and wife, Audrey Sonnenberg of Forest City; a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Elaine) Ricks of Titonka; a grandson, Daniel and wife, Joan Ricks of Thief River Falls, Minnesota; and agreat-grandson, Nicholas Ricks. Also surviving is Ed's"
