Before their marriage Ehme worked as a farm hand and Jennie was a housekeeper. On February 24, 1910 Ehme and Jennie were united in marriage. They moved to a farm northeast of Buffalo Center where they farmed for many years. In 1932 they purchased a farm south of town. This family was blessed with seven children: ...Jennie passed away on October 12, 1932. thus leaving Ehme with six children to care for.
