Funeral services for Antony Freida Metzger, 90, of Lone Rock were held Monday afternoon, September 19 at Immanuel Lutheran Church at rural Lone Rock at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Michael Welters officiating. Interment was in East LawnCemetery at Algona with Geilenfeld-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home of Algona in charge of arrangements.

The organist was Genelle Kuecker and the congregation sang "How Great Thou Art", "Just As I Am" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives". Casketbearers were Larry Cade, Wilbur Christensen, Roland Meyer, Orville Kressin, Wilhmar Wichtendahl,Edwin Luedtke, Jerry Nemitz and Alan Thilges.

Antony Freida Metzger was born June 9, 1904; the daughter of Charles and Emma (Richter) Metzger at Titonka. She attended rural school in Portland Township.

Antony was married -to Albert L. Metzger January 22, 1927 at Algona. They fanned hi Plum Creek Township after their marriage until 1941 when they moved to a farm in the Lolls Creek area. Albert died November 12, 1981. Antony remainedthere until 1983 and. then made her home with her son, Duane and wife, Viola at Lone Rock.

She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, camping, fishing and dancing.

July 22, 1993 she entered the Algona Manor Care Center where she died Thursday, September 15, 1994.

Survivors include one son Duane and wife. Viola Metzger of Lone Rock; daughters, Imogene and husband, Wilbert Boeckholt of Buffalo Center and Mrs. Joan Nemitz of Fenton; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and fivegreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert; her parents; one grandson, Darwin Metzger, three. brothers and one sister." <>
