'A 50th Anniversary Celebration will be held in honor of Ray and Betty Aukes of rural Buffalo Center. Relatives and friends are invited to share this special day with them at 'The Barn', located 8 miles south of Buffalo Center, Sunday,January 14 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. or you can drop them a card at 1321 400th Street, Buffalo Center, Iowa 50424. The couple requests no gifts.

Ray Aukes and Betty Hauskins were married in a double ring ceremony at the Little Brown Church near Nashua, January 22, 1946. They are the parents of six children, Gary, Sheryl, Doug, LuAnn, Lori and Ron.' <>

'Word has been received of the death of Etta Hauskins, 88, of Portland, Oregon. Mrs. Hauskins died Thursday, October 15, 1998 at Hospice in Portland following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Monday, October 19 inPortland.

Mrs. Hauskins, a former resident of Buffalo Center, is Betty Aukes' mother.'

'Betty Aukes, 77

Funeral services for Betty Aukes, 77, of Buffalo Center will be held today, Thursday, December 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center. Rev. Paul Haugen will officiate. Interment will take place in OlenaMound Cemetery at Buffalo Center. Betty passed away Sunday, December 12, 2004 at the Titonka Care Center in Titonka. Winter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Jane (Hauskins) Aukes, daughter of Adrian and Etta (Thompson) Hauskins, was born February 27, 1927 at Frost, Minnesota. She attended school at Rake and graduated from Buffalo Center High School and she was baptized and confirmed atZion Lutheran Church at Rake. She later became a member of the First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center, following her marriage to Ray. She taught the three-year old Sunday School at teh First Congregational Church.

On January 22, 1946, Betty was united in marriage to Ray Aukes at the Little Brown Church at Nashua [actually Bradford Twp.]. The couple farmed and started their family in rural Thompson, until 1960 when they moved to their present farmin rural Buffalo Center. Betty enjoyed spending time on the farm and tending to her home and family. Ray and Betty loved to camp and travel with their travel trailer in their retirement.

Betty is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ray, of Buffalo Center; their children: Gary Aukes and his wife, Orva, of Goodyear, Arizona; Sheryl Wilbur of LeCenter, Minnesota; Doug Aukes and his wife, Deb, of Buffalo Center; LuAnnJohnson and her husband, Kevin, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; Ron Aukes and Brenda, of Buffalo Center; seventeen grandchildren; her beloved great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Rande Giesking, and his wife, Mary, of Lakota; brothers andsister: Merle and Darla Hauskins of Oregon; Glendon and Shirley Hauskins of Oregon; Larry Hauskins of Oregon; Roger and Carol Hauskins of Oregon; Pat and Larry Stratton of Washington; Don and Colleen Hauskins of Washington; Denny and TeriHauskins of Colorado; a brother-in-law, Leon Burk, of Oregon; a sister-in-law, Margaret Sabin, of Oregon; her husband's sibling: Don and Nell Aukes of Kiester, Minnesota; Mildred Dontje of Forest City; Loren Aukes of Forest City; RubyHofbauer of Forest City; Mary and Mo Khowassah of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Etta Hauskins; a daughter, Lori Giesking, in 1996; a brother, Arlin Hauskins, and a sister, Shirley Burk.' <>
