Mrs. Josephine Schaeffer, 87, who made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Geese, Roscoe, died at 6:40 a.m. today at County Memorial hospital after a long illness. She was admitted to the hospital Tuesday.

She was born Jan. 22, 1871, at DeWitt, Mo., a daughter of Robert and Malina Balch Sayer, and was married in 1890 to Charles H. Schaeffer, who died in 1932. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church, Coshocton.

Besides her daughter, Lucille Geese, Roscoe, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Edna Curtis, Los Angles, Calif. Two sisters and one brother are deceased.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Dawson funeral home in charge of Rev. Harold Kaser and burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery.
