MOUNT PULASKI - Geraldine Wimda Zimmermann, 91, of Le Sueur, Minn., formerly of Mount Pulaski, passed away Wednesday (Aug. 13, 2008) at Gardenview Nursing Home, Le Sueur.

Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date at the Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1916, in Golden, to Harry and Margaret Tholen Wible, the first of two daughters.

She graduated from Mount Pulaski High School in 1935 and from MacMurray College, Jacksonville, in 1939. She married Theodore Frederick Zimmermann on Aug. 15, 1942, at the Walla Walla Air Base Chapel in Walla Walla, Wash. ... She is survived by her son, Gary Zimmermann, Miami, Fla.; daughter, Ann (Tom) Gupton III, Le Sueur, Minn.; one sister, Jean Martin, Mount Pulaski; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. ..."

MT. PULASKI, IL - Jean Martin, 95, of Mt. Pulaski, Ill., passed away at 7:59 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt. Pulaski. Jean was born Sept. 30, 1919 in Golden, Ill., to Harry John and Margaret Angeline Tholen Wible. She married Harry S Martin Jr. on Jan 25, 1942. He proceeded her in death on Jan. 21, 1996. She is survived by three sons: Stephen Martin, Jeffrey (Jean) Martin and Thomas (Cheryl) Martin; one daughter, Mary (Tim) Southerian, all of Mt. Pulaski; seven grandchildren: Douglas (Erin) Martin, Derek (Renee) Martin, Kari (Justin) Gardner, Christopher Martin, Abbie (Jim) Mulkins, Ashley Southerian and Mathew Southerian; and six great-grandchildren: Drew, Alec, Luke, Ella, Dean, and Reed Martin. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Geri Zimmerman. Jean was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church where she was on the Church Council, Mt. Pulaski Historical Society, Mt. Pulaski Courthouse Foundation, 2001 McMurray College Alumni of the Year, Past President of the Mt. Pulaski PTA, board member of the Mt. Pulaski Chamber of Commerce, Mt. Pulaski Pool Foundation, Mt. Pulaski Community Players, Mt. Pulaski Community Pride, Logan County Abraham Lincoln Heritage Foundation, and Logan County Tourism. She has also served as the chairman for the Mt. Pulaski Fall Festivals where she was the Grand Marshal of the 1987 parade. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 29, 2015, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mt. Pulaski with Pastor Barbara Stroud Both officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at Steenbergen Cemetery in Mt. Pulaski. Memorials may be made to: Mt. Pulaski Courthouse Foundation, Vonderlieth LIving Center Foundation or St John's Lutheran Church. Frick-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski is handling arrangements.
