"Mr. and Mrs. Randall Winter

Church of Buffalo Center was the setting for the marriage of Lorie Lyn Albers and Randall Lee Winter on Saturday, July 14. Pastor Floyd Anderson and Pastor Philip Peters officiated the 2:00 p.m., double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Albers and Mr. and Mrs. George Winter, all of Buffalo Center.

Ron Winter provided nuptial music and accompanied soloist Jonathan Pilgrim.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a sheerganza, sleeveless gown with a scoop neckline and a double ruffle of eyelet embroidered sheer. Silk Venice lace encircled the high waistline. Small lace clusters were appliqued over the fullA-line skirt and attached train ending in a full flounce of eyelet embroidered sheer. The wide picture hat had three layers of sheer appliqued and edged in lace on the brim. The crown was covered with silk Venice lace. Imported bridalillusion veiling covered the hat, ending in a full length train. She carried a nosegay of white daisies, yellow sweetheart roses and baby's breath. Marcia Smith was the bride's personal attendant"

"LeAnn Wempen, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Patti Weaver, Marnie Baron, and Pam McLain. The flower girl was Kristen Hoffman. They wore blue and white gingham sundress - cs trimmed in white eyelet and carried nosegays of white daisies and baby's breath.

Charles Smith was best man, and groomsmen were Bart Winter and Kirk Winter, brothers of the groom, and Roger Fiderlick. Ringbearer was Scott Albers. The ushers were Rodney Wempen, Tim Shea and Kurt McLain. All wore blue tuxedoes.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church social hall. Kathy Douglass registered the guests and hosts and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. Don Albers and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Albers. Mike McCool and Kim Littig poured punch. Mrs. Jerry Albers and Ms. Cindy Field cut the four-tiered wedding cake.

Mrs. Harold Hoffman and Mrs. Edwin Albers poured coffee. Mrs. Leon Amundson and Mrs. Lloyd Larson were table servers. Tammy Skogen, Nancy Skogen, Sheila Hewitt and Betty Sheldon assisted in the dining room. Mrs. Tom Hewitt was in chargeof gifts and gift carriers were Michele"

"Randall L. Winter, DDS

Randall Lee Winter, 61, passed away at his home in Forest City on August 9, 2016. A funeral service was held on Monday, August 15 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City.

Randall was born to George and Evelyn (Bappe) Winter on Christmas morning 1954, in Buffalo Center. The oldest of three sons, he was baptized and confirmed at the First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center. He graduated from Buffalo Center High School in 1973. At the University of Iowa, he earned an undergraduate degree in 1977 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1981.

He married fellow 1973 Buffalo Center graduate Lorie Albers (Bierle) July 15, 1979. During their 13-year marriage, Randall and Lorie were blessed with two children: Kyle Patrick, born in 1983 and Rebecca Lyn, born in 1987.

He built and started his dental practice in Buffalo Center in September of 1981. As a dentist, he served the people of the surrounding communities for 35 years. He was very proud of his son joining the practice in 2010.

Randall was united in marriage with LauraBeth [no space] (Heiens) on July 17, 1994, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City. He welcomed daughters Sarah and Jenny into the family. Randall and Laura worked together at the dental office, making the daily commute to Buffalo Center together.

The two took joy in traveling, especially to National Parks and Yellowstone in particular. Randy loved driving his Land Cruiser and spending time with his five grandchildren. He was a long-time Hawkeye fan, holding season football tickets for 43 years. He also enjoyed golfing, and even once got a hole in one, although he mostly kept it a secret.

Randall Winter is survived by: his loving wife, Laura Winter; mother, Evelyn Winter; son and his wife, Kyle and Kelly Ruth Winter; daughter and her husband, Rebecca and Bill Meyer; daughter and her husband, Sarah and Brett Coberley; daughter and her husband, Jenny and John Kolb; five grandchildren, Kayla Coberley, Cody Kolb, Grace Kolb, Jake Kolb, and Lillian Winter; brother and his wife, Bart and Medara Winter; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, patients, and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his grandparents; father, George Winter; youngest brother and his wife, Kirk and Cyndi Winter; and nephew, Alex Winter.
