Note: John J Gronewold, 74, George died Thursday July 28, 2005 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Born August 6, 1930 he was the son of Jans and Rena (Donker) Groenwold. he married Betty Krull on January 27, 1949 in Worthington.

He grew up on a farm and at the age of 4, his father died. His mother later married Jack Busker, and together they raised their family. He attended country school and after his education began working for area farmers. After marriage theymade their home on a farm west of George. In 1963 they moved east of George and in 1977 they moved to the farm where they currently lived.

Surviving are his wife; 1 son Mere (Patty) Gronewold, George; 2 daughters Cheryl (John) Koerselman, Little Rock; and Barb (Michael) Modder, George; 1 sister Jennie Doeden, Lake Wilson; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 stepgrandchildren; and 8 step great grandchildren.

The service will be 10:30 today at Hope Reformed Church, George with the Rev Brian hellenga officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
