Note: John Frank Meyer, 73, of Sibley died Sunday March 23, 2003 at Osceola Community Hospital, Sibley. Born November 28, 1929 SW of Sibley he was the son of Frank and Minnie (Donker) Meyer. He married Dora Hinrichs October 8, 1960 inWorthington.

He attended country school near Sibley and frinished through the 8th grade. At age 13 he began working for Mike and Bob's Grocery Store, Sibley. He then worked as a welder at Priebe and Sons and Hemco Manufacturing, both of Sibley. heserved in the national Guard for 3 years and in 1952 he was drafted into the US Army where he served 2 years in Korea. He then returned to Sibley and worked for Hemco and then for York Manufacturing, the City of Sibley Power Plant,Schnepf Lumber and Sibley Concrete where he remained for 30 years. He retired at age 67. He was a member of George E Mudge American Legion Post 324, Sibley.

Surviving are his wife ; 1 son Randall Meyer, Sibley, IA; 1 sister Trena Abels, George, IA and 1 grandchild.

Visitation will be from 10-11 Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Sibley with the funeral to follow at 11. Rev Terry Simm will officiate with burial at a later date in Holman Township Cemetery, Gilman. Walton Roste Funeral home is incharge of arrangements.
