Clifford R Willemssen, 77, of Wilmont, died Tuesday January 20, 1998 at Worthington Regional Hospital. Born march 4, 1920 in George, IA he was the son of Heiko and Agnes (Ackerman) Willemssen. He married Joyce Joens, November, 4 1951 inWilmont.

He graduated from Little Rock High School in 1939. He served as an Air Force teletype operator in Okinawa in World War II. He returned to Worthington and worked at Worthmore Creamery. After marriage he managed Cliff's Pure Oil gas stationin Worthington/ In 1956 they began farming near Montevideo. In 1959 they moved to a farm near Wilmont. In 1970 he started working for Hoffman Farm Service, Wilmont. He later managed the Wilmont Recreation Center, and retired in 1983. Hewas an active memeber of the First Presbyterian Church, Wilmont where he served on many boards. He was a charter member of the Wilmont Lion's club, and the Wilmont VFW.

Surviving are his wife, 2 son Clair (Diane) Willemssen, Worthington, and Keith (Lori) Willemssen, St. James, 3 daughters Barbara (James) Feit, Mankato, Karen (Mike) Jepsen, Windom, and Lori Hintz, Federal Way, WA; 1 sister Evelyn (Daniel)Scheepstra, Tuscon, AZ and 7 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-8 today and from 9:30-10:30 Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Wilmont. The service will be 10:30 Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Wilmont with the Rev Kenneth Honius officiating. Burial will be in theWilmont cemetery. Lynch-Dingmann Funeral home, Wilmont is in charge of arrangements.
