They farmed in the George area for many years and then retired to town [George]. The couple attended theCentral Baptist Church. They are pictured here with their children, top row, left to right: Gladys (m. Walter Van Briesen), John (m. Verna Kix), Fred H.F. (Fritz) (m. Myrtle Ubbinga) and Julia (m. Fred Bonk); bottom row: Herman, Tillieand Herbert (m. Margaret Wagner), They had twin sons who died in infancy."
