Meindert Ullmann, the son of Henry and Fendke (Smidt) Ullmann, was born in Uplonard (Ostfriesland), Germany on September 3, 1901. Meindert left Germany at the age of twnty-one, on April 4, 1923. He arrived in America on April 13, 1923.He settled in Titonka and worked as a hired man for area farmers. March 4, 1931 he was united in marriage to Flora Franzen. Children are: Phyllis (Mrs. Willis Janes) Britt, Iowa; Frank, Buffalo Center, Iowa; Thelma (Mrs. Gary Zwiefel),Titonka; Geraldine (Mrs. Howard Bosma) Minneapolis, Minnesota; Floyd, Woden, Iowa; Mildred (Mrs. Melvin Gray) Appleton, Wisconsin; Henry, Titonka. Harriet and a son, another with the name of Henry, are decesed.

Meindert and Flora lived on the farm, northeast of Titonka, until they retired and moved to Titonka." <>
