Funeral services for long-time area resident and farmer Carl Herman Schneck, 73, will be held today, Wednesday, May 10 1978, at 2 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran church in Milbank. The Rev. Reuben Wiegert will officiate and burial will be inMilbank cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Marlin Kasuske, Larry Gehrking, Orville Hilbrands, Robert Hinders, Aaron Knaus and Lloyd Grabow, Jr. Emanuels are in charge of arrangements.

Mr Schneck died at the local hospital [since I do not have the bibliographical information about the newspaper from which the obiit was cut, the phrase 'local hospital' might refer to anywhere, say Timbuctu] Sunday evening about 10:30p.m. after being stricken by a heart attack.

He was born August 25, 1904, in George, Iowa, the son of Herman and Bertha Kobs Schneck. He was educated in Kilborn township school after his parents moved to Grant county during his youth.

He was married in 1926 to Opal Green and they had two children, Harlow Schneck of Milbank and Harold Schneck of Mandan, N. D. Both survive. Survivors from his second marriage to Elsie Gustafson in 1943 are his wife Elsie and childrenDonald Schneck and Carol Schneck, both at home. There are also eight surviving grandchildren and four great-grandchildren in addition to three sisters, Mrs. Sam (Emily) Benting, Milbank; Mrs. George (Frieda) Schemm, Neosha Rapids, Kansas,and Mrs. Marie Stoick, Odessa, Minn.

He was preceded in death by a son Victor who died in 1955.'

Mrs. Hull writes, "BAPTISED IN LUTHERAN CHURCH. BURIED IN CITY CEMETERY. LUTHERAN. MARRIED ELSIE EMMA GUSTAFSON ON 07/13/1943. HAD A SON DONALD AND A DAUGHTER CAROL BY HIS SECOND MARRIAGE. WAS EDUCATED IN KILBORN TWP. DIED IN LOCALHOSPITAL. FUNERAL SERVICES AT EMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURC. OBITUARY SAYS BORN IN GEORGE, IA."
