Note: Janna's obituary was listed on the IAgenweb.org website and included the following obituary which it indicated was probably published in the Freeman Journal newspaper, Webster City, Iowa.

Mrs. John J. Koop, 69, longtime Kamrar resident, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday [June 7, 1953] at the Story City hospital where she had been a patient since June 2. She had been in failing health for several years but more seriously ill since last Tuesday.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 Wednesday at the Presbyterian church east of Kamrar, preceded by a brief service at 1 o'clock at the family home four miles east of Kamrar. The Rev. August Cramer will officiate, and burial will be in the Presbyterian cemetery east of Kamrar. Foster's funeral home has charge of services.

Jennie Welp, daughter of Adolph and Hilke Welp, was born Jan. 27, 1884 in Wymeer, Ostfriesland, Germany. When she was seven years old she came with her parents to the United States, and the family located on a farm east of Kamrar.

She was reared and educated in that community and had always made her home there. She was united in marriage in 1901 to John J. Koop, and to this union six children were born.

She is survived by her husband, and the following children: Mrs. Jerry (Harriet) Jansen of Kamrar; Mrs. Wilkie (Hilka) Heeren of Ellsworth; Mrs. Anthony (Jennie) Blue of Kamrar; Adolph Koop of Kamrar; Mrs. Arthur (Velma) Blue of Webster City and John A. Koop of Kamrar. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Anko Klaver of Kamrar and Mrs. John Trampel of Blairsburg; and a large number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters, who died in this country, and by two brothers and two sisters who died in Germany.

She was baptized in the Christian Reformed church in Germany and was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Kamrar where she was active in church work and the Ladies Aid.
