Notes about William Fox

William Fox

Source: Russell, Lee, annotations to Fox/Essam FGS, (Muncie IN, LR, xv Nov MCMXCIII)

Lee Russell writes, 'William Fox was quarantined on ship 2 weeks with bubonic plague.

Anna Fox brought 4 boys ashore, baby died that night. 1st child born when Ann Fox was 15. and she was 19 on arrival in New York.

(apparently the Fox family arrived in 1851 - if Syndal Fox was a year old when she died 1853 - where was Syndal Fox born before arrival in Muncie 1853, before her sister died. _____ Joseph Alvey purchases 2 houses at Main Street 1854 -few days before he married Anna Essam Fox Feb 16, 1854.' - xv Nov MCMXCIII

Lee Russell writes, 'William Fox died aboard ship of Bubonic plague. A baby son died that night. So Ann fox brought 3 sons by stage coach to Buffalo NY than canal boat to Indiana then to Muncie - & lived with sister & husband JosephAlvey.' - xv Nov MCMXCIII

It seems William Fox died in New York harbor if I am reading Lee Russell correctly.

Lee Russell writes, '(duplicate note) William Fox was quarantined on ship 2 weeks with Bubonic plague. Anna Fox brought 4 boys ashore, baby died that night. 1st child born when Anna was 15 and age 19 on arrival in New York. Records (?)show Syndol Fox was born 1852. This is probably right if she was 1 yr old & died in Muncie shortly after Eliza S Alvey & baby died Nov 30/1853. 1824 - 15 = 1839.' - xv Nov MCMXCIII
