Kent L. Saylor, 68, Grand Rapids, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015.

Services were held Monday, July 20, at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids with Rev. Mark Shuey officiating.

Arrangements were by Rowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Grand Rapids.

Kent was born in 1946 in Grand Rapids to Emory and Dorothy Saylor. He grew up in the Hill City area, graduated from Hill City High School in 1964 and attended Itasca Community College for welding. He married Bonnie Simons August 28, 1965, in Grand Rapids. They moved to Duluth where Kent was employed with Marine Iron Shipbuilding. He later was employed with MinTac in Babbitt and later moved to Grand Rapids to work in the area iron ore mines and then Blandin Paper Company.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a step-sister; and two step-brothers.

"Kent L. Saylor July 14, 2015

KENT L. SAYLOR, age 68, of Grand Rapids, MN, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Kent was born in 1946 to Emory and Dorothy Saylor in Grand Rapids, MN. He grew up in the Hill City, MN area, graduated from Hill City High School in 1964 and then attended Itasca Community College for welding. Kent was united in marriage to Bonnie Simons on August 28, 1965 in Grand Rapids, MN. They moved to Duluth, MN, where Kent was employed with Marine Iron Shipbuilding. He later was employed with MinTac in Babbitt, MN and later moved to Grand Rapids to work in the area iron ore mines and then Blandin Paper Company.

Kent loved fishing, hunting and camping.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a step-sister; and two step-brothers.

Kent is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Bonnie; one daughter, Janeen Saylor of Bovey, MN; one son, Kurt (Tammy) Saylor of Grand Rapids, MN; three grandchildren, Samantha and Zachary Frandsen, and Grace Durbin; one step-grandson, Travis Kosta.

Visitation will be Monday, July 20th from 12:00 Noon until the 1:00 PM Memorial Service at the Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids. Rev. Mark Shuey will officiate. Burial will be in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery."
