ALMA F. SPROWLS

Mrs. Alma F. Sprowls,70, of West Finley, died in her home at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 1973, after a serious illness of about two months.

Born January 27, 1903 in Richhill Twp., she was the daughter of Jacob and Belle Newman Raymer, and was twice widowed, first by Oakey Sprowls who died March 21, 1952, then by Ross Sprowls who died January 1, 1973.

For many years she had served as the substitute postmaster at West Finely Twp. election board. Mrs. Sprowls was a member of the Windy Gap United Presbyterian Church, and of the Missionary Society of that church.

She was also a member of the Mothers Club, and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the West Finley Volunteer Fire Co.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Glenn (June) Amos of West Finley RD2; Mrs John (Jane) Salsberry of Linesville; and Mrs. George (Betty) Porter of Elm Grove, WVA; a son Ray Sprowls of West Finley; 20 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; a brother Harry Raymer of Eldersville; four sisters, Mrs. Reed (Lenora) Brown of Washington; Mrs. Goldie Walker of Carmichaels; and Mrs. Frank (Cora) Fish of Brilliant, Ohio. A grandson, two brothers and a sister are deceased. Burial in West Finley Cemetery.
