Okey Ellsworth Sprowls

Okey Ellsworth Sprowls, 51, of West Finley, died at 9 AM Friday March 21, 1952 at his home, of a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been ill for two years. Before his illness, Mr. Sprowls was employed by the State Highway Department, and also served as a township supervisor for West Finley Township. He was born March 2, 1901, in East Finley, and was a son of Jacob L. Sprowls, who survives, and the late Minnie Henry Sprowls. Almost all his life was spent in West Finley. He was a member of the Windy Gap Presbyterian Church.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are three daughters, June, wife of Glenn Amos, of West Finley; Jane, wife of John Salsbury of West Finley, and Betty Sprowls at home; one son, Ray Sprowls, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Reese, of West Finley; Mrs. Reed Karr, of Claymount, Del.; Mrs. Ruby Hughes, of West Finley, and Mrs. Daisy Harris, of Washington, and two brothers, Melvin Sprowls of Washington; and Delmar Sprowls, of Akron, Ohio.
