"Hermina M. Smith

Hermina M. Smith, 85, of Mason city, passed away peacefully and joined her husband, John, in heaven on Wednesday, July 25, at the IOOFF Home. Upon her wishes, she was cremated. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 4 at 1:00p.m. at the Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center. Memorials may be directed to the Hermina M. Smith memorial fund in care of the family.

Hermina M. Smith was born December 16, 1926 in Thompson; the daughter of Charles and Tillie (Johnson) Westendorf. She attended schools in Thompson and Buffalo Center. She married John W. Smith and shared 62 years with him until hisdeath. She loved to travel with her husband and together they traveled many of the fifty states. Hermina loved spending time with her family and friends. Her beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor always made her a pleasure to bearound. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Hermina is survived by her son, Mark (Barbara) Smith, Olive Branch, MS; grandchildren, Nathan (Lori) Smith, Ryan Smith, Jamie (Steve) Marshall, Cory (Alicia) Rubeel and Andrea Smith; great-grandchildren Morgan, Hagan, and Kaylan Smith,Mae and Sam Marshall, and Reese and Etta Rubel; sisters, Bonna (Richard) Madsen and Tillie Spora, Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; four brothers; and one sister.
