"Joseph Boekelman, 79

Funeral services for Joseph Boekelman, 79, of Titonka, were held Monday morning, August 31 at United Methodist Church in Titonka with Rev. Karl Schiltz officiating. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home of Titonka was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Buffalo Township Cemetery at Titonka with Military Rites conducted by Breen American Legion Post 465 and William F. Kennedy, VFW Post 4071 of Titonka. Mr. Boekelman died August 27, 1992 at Kossuth CountyHospital, Algona. ... Joseph Boekelman was born November 8,1912 in German township, rural Titonka, son of John and Maggie (Rippentrop) Boekelman. Joe grew up and attended rural school and worked 'on the family farm. He served his country during World War II inthe Army.

Joe is survived by his wife, Lois; his son, Calvin and wife, Sandy Boekelman of Algona; his daughter, Carol and husband, Denny McGreevey of Wesley; and by seven grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Mrs. Ben (Martha) Beenken and Mrs. Simon (Gertrude) Sunken, both of Titonka, and brothers, Heiko and Robert Boekelman, also of Titonka. ..."

"Nov. 30 open house for Lois Boekelman's 80th birthday

Family and friends are invited to open house celebration in honor of Lois Boekelman's 80th birthday. The open house will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at Titonka. Her children are hostingthe event: Cal and Sandy Boekelman of Algona, and Carol and Denny McGreevey of Wesley. She has seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Lois will turn 80 on Sunday, Nov. 24. She has lived in Titonka her entire life. Her husband, Joe, is deceased."

"Lois Iola Boekelman November 24, 1922 - November 10, 2020

Lois Iola Boekelman was born November 24, 1922, in Titonka, the daughter of Harvey and Lillian (Jennings) Graham. She grew up in Titonka and attended Titonka Schools through the 9th Grade. Lois worked various jobs in the community; German Valley Stores, Bartlet's Cafe, Callies General Store, and Titonka Care Center in the Kitchen.

She was united in marriage to Joe Boekelman on March 15, 1950, in Titonka at the United Methodist Church. Lois enjoyed embroidering, gardening, bird watching, raising violets, and taking drives through the Union Slough. She loved spending time with her family, horses, and dogs. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Ladies Auxiliary.

Lois died Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at the Titonka Care Center. She was 97.

She is survived by her son, Calvin and wife Sandy of Algona; daughter, Carol and her husband, Dennis McGreevey of Wesley; seven grandchildren, Stacy (Kalie) Boekelman, Lisa (Tony) DeGroot, Miranda (T.J.) Ruland, Jace (Hope) Boekelman, Jennifer (Mark) Pannaralla, Thomas (Kelli) McGreevey, Christina (Aaron) Moon; 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; parents, Harvey and Lillian Graham; brother, Harvey Jr. (Elora) Graham and Donald (Jean) Graham. The family would like to thank all the people who gave Lois rides and took her places throughout the years.

A private family funeral service for Lois Boekelman was held on Friday, November 13, at the United Methodist Church, Titonka. Burial was in Buffalo Township Cemetery, Titonka. The funeral service canl be streamed on Oakcrest Funeral Services' Facebook Page. Online condolences may be left at www.oakcrestfuneralservices.com."
