Obituary, newspaper fragment, July 1913

'Obituary

Death has again invaded the sacred precincts of the home and caused sorrow to many relatives and friends.

Anna Virginia Pugh was born in Virginia, May 4, 1852. A mere child when her parents moved to Richland county, Ohio, where they resided a short time before coming to this county. The oldest of ten children, born to John and Lavina Pugh. She was united in marriage to P. A. Viers on July 4, 1872 and passed to the better land after weeks of suffering on June 25, 1913, aged 61 years, 1 month and 21 days.

Early in life she gave her heart to the Savior and later united with the M.E. church at this place, remaining a faithful member and as long as her health permitted, a regular attendant at the house of worship. A loving mother and adevoted wife, she leaves to mourn her loss, a husband, ... and a daughter, two children having preceded her, six grand children, three brothers and four sisters, besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church at Ottokee, conducted by Rev. W. T. Cordrey; interment at Salsbury cemetery.

Card of Thanks

We wish to thank the neighbors and friends for the kindness and sympathy shown us in our great bereavement, for the beautiful songs and the floral tribute and Rev. Cordrey for his comforting words.
