Mrs. Wm. (Teda) Welhousen, 87, Titonka housewife, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 12 at Memorial Hospital in Britt.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday in the United Methodist Church in Titonka with the Rev. Paul Hansen officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Township Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Blake funeral Home was incharge of arrangements.

Mrs. Welhousen was born May 15, 1885 at Harmswaven, Germany, the daughter of Herman and Anna Cirksena Tjarks. The family came to the United States in 1892 and settled in German Township. On February 27, 1907, she was married to Wm. Welhousen at Titonka.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Carl (Jeanette) Krause of Forest City, Mrs. Henry (Ella) Beenken and Mrs. Raymond (Anna) Schutjer of Wesley, Mrs. Evert (Gertrude) Sleper of Titonka, and Mrs. Harold (Dolores) Bode of Algona; oneson, Herman Welhousen of Titonka; and one nephew, John Boehm of Clear Lake, whom she raised. there are 18 grand children and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967, one son, Wilbur, three brothers and two sisters."
