Katie was in the home of the Good Shepard for a time, after her mother died and her father was sent to prison. Her Uncle Peter Baker and Aunt Ellen adopted her then, and raised her. Mary (Mamie) Hutt and she were close from childhood, even next door neighbors when they were adults, as well as cousins. She was close to the entire Hutt family.
HHT, severe nosebleeds throughout adult life. multiple blood transfusions at local hospital. diagnosis of Osler Rendu disease by Peoria doctor, Dr. Rafool, cauterized, given iron, etc. Cause of death was stroke.
