De 21-jarige Willempje trouwde in Ede met Jan, die op 9-jarige leeftijd met zijn ouders in Ede was komen wonen. Jan was eerst rijwielhersteller, maar stond later als monteur geregistreerd. Ze kregen in Ede drie kinderen: Willem Jan (1945), Willempje (1947) en Dirk (1953). Na op diverse adressen in Ede te hebben gewoond werd hij op 25 mei 1955 met zijn vrouw en de drie kinderen ingeschreven op Geraniumlaan 3. Jan was bijna 46 jaar geworden, toen hij in zijn woonplaats overleed. Willempje hertrouwde niet en overleed vele jaren later op 80-jarige leeftijd. Ze werd in Ede op de oude algemene begraafplaats bij haar man Jan begraven.
