Op 20-jarige leeftijd trouwde de matroos Jacob Cornelis, die in Ede woonde, met de 22-jarige Adriana Folmer. Adriana was het jaar daarvoor bevallen van een kind, dat bij het huwelijk door Jacob Cornelis werd erkend. In november 1940 verhuisde het gezin van de matroos van Ojik van Veldhuizen 10 te Ede naar Asterstraat 8 in Wagenigen. In januari 1941 ging hij met zijn gezin terug naar Ede, Een maand later verbleef Adriana een tijdje in Wageningen op Asterstraat 8, waar haar tweede kind levenloos ter wereld kwam.
Eind 1942 vertrok Jacob Cornelis naar ambt-Doetinchem om vervolgens met zijn gezin in Rotterdam te gaan wonen. In Rotterdam beviel Adriana van een dochtertje dat op 4 januari 1943 werd aangegeven. Het gezin woonde op Obreenstraat 23a toen ten laste van J.C. van Ojik meubilaire goederen bij executie werden verkocht. (Rotterdamsch Nieuwsblad 25-05-1944) Op 3 september 1945 werd het gezin ingeschreven in Wageningen. Jaren later, toen de kinderen het huis uit waren, was het echtpaar in het zorgcentrum ”De Nudehof” te Wageningen gaan wonen, waar Jacob Cornelis op 75-jarige leeftijd overleed. Hij werd in het crematorium Moscowa in Arnhem gecremeerd.
