Obituary

   Lucy Berger, age 82, of Eau Claire died Monday, May 24, 2004, at her home.

   She was born on April 2, 1922, in Albany township, Pepin County, to Frank and Emma (Pichler) Brantner Sr. She married Charles Berger on May 14, 1947, in Mondovi. Lucy was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved to dance, to cook and care for her flowers.

   Survivors include her husband, Charles; her six children Kenneth (Karen) Berger, of Eau Claire, Sister Sharon Berger, F. S.P.A., of Mauston, Wis., Ronald (Diane) Berger of Eau Claire, Deborah (Bruce) Jenson of Eau Claire, and Tim Berger of Eau Claire, Kathy (Robert) Luty of Hudson, Wis.; 10 grandchildren, Erica Berger, Laura Berger, Nicholas Berger, Angela Berger, Daniel Berger, Jamie Berger, Shannon (Jason) Phillips, Ryan Luty, Timothy Radke, Sarah Radke; one great-grandson, Brett Radke; two sisters, Dorothy (Aubrey) Olson and Donna (Dennis) Carothers, both of Eau Claire; and a brother, Frank (Myrna) Brantner of Mondovi; many nieces and nephews.

   Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Awold, LeVerne, Adolf, and Hubert Brantner; and three sisters, Isabelle, Bernice and Erma.

   The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rock Falls, with Father Thomas Langer officiating. Burial will be held at St.Joseph Cemetery at a later date.

  Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home, Eau Claire, where there will be a 7 p.m. Scripture service. Friends may also call Thursday for one hour before the Mass at the church.
