      William Beveridge, fifty years of age, miner, Toll Row, Donibristle, met with an accident on Thursday, which terminated fatally. He was at work in the underground workings of the Marion Pit, Donibristle, when a piece of coal, weighing about 2 cwts, fell upon him. He was struck on the head and neck, and his spine was injured. He was conveyed to the Dunfermline Cottage Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at one o'clock yesterday morning.

      The miner who was fatally injured in the Marion Pit, Donibristle Colliery, last week, was William Archibald, fifty years of age, Toll Row, Donibristle.

      This issue carried the report of the Fatal Accident Inquiry, held on Monday at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, into the death of William Archibald. Among those giving evidence were:- Alex. Nasmyth, manager; Robert Beveridge, miner, Toll Row, Donibristle; Abraham Archibald, miner, Toll Row, Donibristle (son of deceased); John Baxter, colliery manager, Frosty Mountains (oversman in charge); and, William Cook, pit inspector, Cowdenbeath. The Jury returned a formal verdict.
