Yekutiel Kronick (z"l)
Was born in White Russia where he was involved with music at a very early age, both as student and as teacher. This involvement was carried over with him when he moved to Canada in 1923. He taught mus
ic at the Peretz School and the Jewish Peoples' school; he conducted the choirs of Poalei Zion and Hashomer Hatzair. He was also the founder of the Grodner Choir.
He started his conducting career in Montreal in 1930 at the Milton Street Shul and subsequently at B'nai Jacob where he stayed for 22 years. During his career, he conducted choirs for such names as Da
vid Roitman, Kapov Kagan, Shmuel Vigoda and Kwartin. His last position was the Adath Jeshurun Synagogue with Cantor Wieder.
