Com nove anos em 1815, foi o herdeiro de seu tio e padrasto Francisco de Carvalho Duarte. Casou primeira vez com Josefa Augusta de Rezende, falecida aos 16-10-1836 (inventário neste site) . Casou em segundas com Delfina Henriqueta Júlia de Rezende, viúva do Tenente Francisco Antonio de Carvalho (§ 10º neste capítulo), ambas filhas naturais do Marques de Valença Estevão Ribeiro de Rezende (família "João de Rezende Costa", 2-11-4-1 e 2-11-4-2)

Silvestre faleceu aos 11-01-1853 e deixou os filhos (inventário neste site):

1- Maria Bárbara do Nascimento (ou de Rezende), nascida por 1830. Casou com o Capitão José Resende de Carvalho § 10º -1 neste capítulo a geração.

Das segundas núpcias:

2- Mariana Eleutéria de Resende, batizada aos 01-05-1839. Casou com José Joaquim de Andrade Reis, depois Barão de Ponte Nova, falecido aos 13-11-1906 (inventário neste site). José Joaquim, filho de Severino Denunciano dos Reis e Iria Candida de Andrade, foi casado em primeiras núpcias com Ubaldina Cândida de Andrade.

Geração das duas núpcias do Barão da Ponte Nova na família "Domingos dos Reis e Silva" § 5 º.

3- Francisco Carvalho de Resende, batizado aos 07-06-1840. Casou com Ana Cândida de Almeida Resende.

4- Estevão Ribeiro de Resende, nascido por 1842, casou com Maria Tereza de Carvalho. Geraçãqo no 1-4 do § 11 neste Capítulo.

5- Joaquim Carvalho de Resende, batizado aos 04-06-1843. Solteiro em 1866
