Notes about Sienus Nijborg

Medio oktober 1909 is sprake van een proces-verbaal tegen Sienus (16 jaar), Jakob (14 jaar) en Christiaan Nijborg (12 jaar), allen arbeiders wonende te Annen, wegens diefstal. Ze hebben gras ontvreemd. Volgens de burgemeester staan de verdachten en het gezin waartoe zij behoren ongunstig bekend. De vader is een bekend wildstroper, terwijl de jongens die een slechte opvoeding genieten, voor zeer brutaal bekend staan (Brieven burgemeester Römelingh, Anloo van 1 oktober 1909, nr. 178 en 184). Deze kwestie wordt hoog opgespeeld en op 25 november 1909 verschijnen de drie kinderen achter gesloten deuren op een zitting voor de Rechtbank te Assen (Provinciale Drentsche en Asser Courant van 27 november 1909).
In april 1912 wordt Sienus als nederlander aangemerkt (Brief burgemeester Römelingh, Anloo d.d. 18-4-1912, nr.149).
In 1913 wordt Sienus opgeroepen om in de militie te dienen.
Op 26 augustus 1915 wordt hij door twee politiedienaren onterecht bekeurd voor stroperij. Sienus kon aantonen niet in de vroege morgen op de plaats delict, te weten het Zeegser veld te zijn geweest. Hij was namelijk op het bewuste tijdstip als militair present in het garnizoen te Ede in Gelderland (De Arbeider 12 februari 1916). In december 1923 wordt hij vanwege
wildstroperij bekeurd door de jachtopziener Maas Pluim, die in dienst was van de eigenaar van het Evertsbos, gelegen tussen Anloo en Annen.
In februari 1933 biedt Sienus een arbeidershuis met 75 are bouwland in Annen te koop aan, waarschijnlijk gelegen achter zijn woning aan de Eexterweg 14 in dat dorp. In die tijd is hij lid van de CPN en bij de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen in 1935 kandidaat-lijsttrekker van deze arbeiderspartij, zonder voldoende stemmen op zich te vestigen om in de raad van Anloo te komen. Hij weet 55 stemmen te behalen, voornamelijk uit het dorp Annen.

Na hun huwelijk eerst woonachtig in Kiel-Windeweer. Vanaf 1921 wonende aan de Zuidlaarderweg 13 in Annen, tussen circa 1922 en 1924 wonend in Eexterveenschekanaal, tussen 1928 en 1938 aan de Externe 14 en daarna aan de Eexterweg 7 in Annen. Vanaf 1968 zijn ze verhuisd naar een seniorenwoning aan de Eshof in Eext.
