Clarence was born on Feb. 20, 1927, a son of Henry and Martha (Harmsen) Pluim in the town of Waupun. On Sept. 10, 1960, he was united in marriage to Barbara Thoenes at Pella Lutheran Church of Waupun. He was a farmer for many years and worked at TV Builders in Brandon for 14 years. Clarence enjoyed carpentry work which eventually lead to his own work. He and his wife farmed in the Brandon area for 50 years until they moved to Waupun in 2011.

Clarence was born on February 20, 1927, a son of Henry and Martha (Harmsen) Pluim in the town of Waupun. On September 10, 1960 he was united in marriage to Barbara Thoenes at Pella Lutheran Church of Waupun. He was a farmer for many years and worked at TV Builders in Brandon for 14 years. Clarence enjoyed carpentry work which eventually lead to his own work. He and his wife resided in the Brandon area farming for 50 years until they moved to Waupun in 2011.

    Clarence is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Pluim of Waupun; his twin sister, Catherine Vande Slunt of Brandon; two sisters-in-law, Phylis Pluim of Waupun and Ilis Donovan of Waupun; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    He is preceded in death by his brothers, Walter (Eunice), George, Harold (Mildred) and Marty; a sister, Gladys Pluim; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Vande Slunt and Robert Donovan; two sisters-in-law, Audrey (Dick) Lamers and Betty (John) Hale; and a nephew, Wayne Pluim.

    A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, with Rev. Bob James officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Mound Cemetery. Clarence’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at Kohls Community Funeral Home.
