    George Pluim
    George Pluim, 86, of Waupun died Thursday, March 15, 2007 in Fond du Lac. Funeral services for George Pluim will be held on Monday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Rick Boon officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton. Friends and relatives of George Pluim may call on the family on Sunday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Monday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. time of service.

    George was born January 30, 1921 in Waupun the son of Henry and Martha Harmsen Pluim. On August 23, 1947 he married Phyllis Redeker in Waupun. Following their marriage the couple
    farmed in the Waupun area until 1971. George was employed part time at Rock River Country Club in Waupun as a groundskeeper and later worked at Gysbers Super Market and Lauer's Supermarket retiring in 1995.

    George was a member of First Reformed Church in Waupun where he attended, the Senior Bible Study Group. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. George enjoyed reading, walking, visiting with neighbors and friends, yard work and fishing with his grandchildren.

    He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis Pluim of Waupun; four children, Carolyn (Loren) Theune of Rosendale, Harvey (Christine) Pluim of Waupun, Nancy (Lynn) DeBoer of Brandon, Marlene (Gary) Navis of Brandon; seven grandchildren, Rick (Kara) Theune, Melissa Theune, Racheal (Mike) Pluim- Bergmann, Renee Pluim, Melanie DeBoer, Mark DeBoer, Janell Navis; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Abby and Peyton Theune, Katie and Collette Pluim; a sister, Catherine Vande Slunt of Brandon; three brothers, Walter Pluim of Waupun, Harold (Mildred) Pluim of Waupun, Clarence (Barbara) Pluim of Brandon; several nieces and nephews also
    survive.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Marty Pluim, a sister Gladys Pluim, two infant sisters, a grandson Greg Navis, a brotherin-law Gerald Vande Slunt, two sisters-in-law Eunice Pluim and Jeanette Pluim.

    In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

    Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home of Waupun and staff are serving the family.
