Notes about Penny Fowler

See notes on her husband John F. Hardee.

On March 19, 2001, I visted the office of the Register Of Deeds inWhiteville, NC,. In the Marriage Register Book, 1867 - 1899, pages 1 -226. On pages 45 and 46, there is listed a John F. Hardy; father: John W.Hardy (mother not listed)
and Penny Fowler; father Edmund Fowler (mother not listed). Married:March 11, 1876, by M. M. Harrelson at M. M. Harrelson`s.
I feel sure at last now that Penny Fowler daughter of Edmound Fowler is the unknown first wife of John Franklin Hardee. I also think when I check land records that it will explain how he came by all that land on Mitchell Swamp.

Linking Penny Fowler as the first wife of John Franklin Hardee has been along hard task.
I can now start trying to find their child Mary Frances Hardee perhaps living among the Fowler`s.
(Above note from W. S. Hardee)
