John A. Fowler, and his wife (b. ca. 1806) had seven children by 1840 andwere living in Horry County. These were a son and daughter 1825-30, twosons and two daughters 1830-35, and a daughter 1835-40. He died about1843, and the 1850 widow Margaret was his wife. she was born in 1805 andwas probably a Blackburne. She died by March 1855, and Jacksonadministered the estate. Richard, George, and Jacob served as appraisersfor various parcels of land. Enos Fowler was appointed guardian of theminors. Their children were 1: Jackson (b. 1822SC);
1f: Margaret (b. 1825SC m. Wiley Causey); 2: Daniel P. (b. 1828SC);
3: Stephen (b. 1830SC ); 2f: Maleny (b. 1832SC living with Blackburnesin 1850); 3f: Molsey (b. 1833SC living with her brother Jackson in 1850m. Joseph Todd); 4f: Catherine ( "Kitchey" b. 1834SC m. David Strickland1 Feb 1859); 5f: Malinda (b. 1838SC); Joseph (b. 1841SC). In 1861Stephen baught land of his uncle Miles which he then sold to his brotherDaniel.

Fowler, is listed ashaving the following in his household; 2 males of 10 and under 15 yearsof age; 1 male of 15 and under 20 years of age; 1 male (himself) of 30and under 40 years of age; 1 female under 5 years of age; 2 females of 5and under 10 years of age; 1 female of 10 and under 15 years of age; 1female (wife?) of 30 and under 40 years of age; no slaves.(WSH)
