John came to Andover with his father when he was about four years old.He married Deborah Osgood, who's setp father, Thomas Rowell, was a geniusfor setting up mills; which was probably the reason John became amiller. John owned a gristmill on the Shawshin, near Abbott Village.From Abbott Village to below Frye Village the families of Russ, Lovejoy,Osgood and Wilson were settled. John was the first Representive toMassachusetts General Court. John and Deborah were living on Oct. 17,1711, and among the signers of the covenant (or charter) for the SouthChurch in Andover.
