    AYDEN - David Reid Smith, 63, died Wednesday, August 15, 2007. Graveside service will be hel d at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Johns Episcopal Church Cemetery. David was a lifelong resident of t he St. Johns Community and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parent s, Reid and Nan Smith. He is survived by a sister, Faye Smith of Raleigh; a brother, Van Smit h and wife, Iris, of Lake Lure; nephew, Matthew Griffis and wife, Elizabeth, of Raleigh; niec e, Lorraine Presley and husband, Mike, of Horseshoe; aunts, Roxie Johnson of Ayden, Connie Ha rdee and husband, David, of Ayden, Alice Wesbrooks of Kinston; and his special pet dog, Oreo . The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 until 9 at Farmer Funeral Home. Yo u may e-mail condolences to (XXXXX@XXXX.XXX) Arrangements by Farmer Funeral Se rvice, Ayden.
