    Obit: AYDEN 6 Mrs. Nan Vincent Smith, 86, passed away Tuesday, June 24,2003, unexpectedly. Se rvices will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapelof Farmer Funeral Service in Ayden. Buria l will follow in St. John'sChurch Cemetery in Grifton.

    Obit: Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 24, 1916, near Winterville to the lateCleveland and Effie Coop er Vincent. Nan was a loving and devoted wife,mother, sister and friend to many.

    Obit: She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Reid H.Smith.

    Obit: Surviving are her daughter, Faye Smith of Raleigh; two sons, DavidR. Smith of the hom e and Van C. Smith and wife, Iris, of Lake Lure; twosisters, Roxie Johnson and Connie Harde e and husband, David, of Ayden;two sisters-in-law, Alice Westbrooks of Kinston and Audrey Vin cent ofWinterville; grandchildren, Matthew Griffis of Raleigh, Lorraine Pressleyand husband , Mike, of Horseshoe; and many nieces and nephews.

    Obit: Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 9 at Farmer Funeral Service,Ayden and other time s at the home, 7097 Gum Swamp Road, Ayden.
