SHELBY Robert Milton Gold, 58, 1317 N. Lafayette St., died Oct. 28, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Cleveland County, retired owner and manager of Western Steer, member of Westview Baptist Church, Shelby Lodge 744, past master, member of Scottish Rites and Shriner, past member of Shelby Rotary Club, Army Reserve.

Robert Gold
SHELBY - Mr. Robert Milton Gold, 58, of 1317 North Lafayette St., died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cleveland County, he was a son of Griffin Byron Gold and Ellie Campbell Gold of Shelby. He retired as owner and manager of Western Steer in Shelby. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church, a past member of Shelby Rotary Club, and a member of Shelby Lodge 744, where he was past Master and a member of Scottish Rite and the Shriners. He served in the Army Reserve.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sheila Wiles Gold of Shelby; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles and Beth Gold of Matthews and David Gold of Shelby; two sisters, Lib Revels and Margaret Cummings of Shelby; five brothers, James Gold and Phil Gold of Columbia, S.C., Bill Gold of Forest City, Dan Gold of Winston-Salem and Doug Gold of Shelby; and one grandson, Christian Robert-David Gold of Matthews.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Westview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Brackett officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Cleveland Memorial Park, with full Masonic rites.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Cleveland Funeral Services. At other times, the family will be at the home of his parents, 211 Hudson St., Shelby, and the home, 713 Hanover Drive, Shelby.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital in Greenville, S.C., or to the Life Enrichment Center, 1270 Fallston Road, Shelby, NC 28150.
