Jim Gold
WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. - James "Jim" C. Gold, 61, of West Columbia, S.C., died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of Griffin Bell and Ellie Campbell Gold of Shelby. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was retired from NCR.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert M. Gold.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lillian Richardson Gold of West Columbia; a daughter and son-in-law, Marti G. and Kenneth S. Flaherty of West Columbia; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher A. and Stephanie Smith Gold of West Columbia; two sisters, Lib Revels and Margaret Cummings, both of Shelby; four brothers, Phil Gold of Columbia, S.C., Dan Gold of Winston-Salem, Doug Gold of Shelby and Bill Gold of Forest City; and nine grandchildren.
The funeral will be today at 10 at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Reed officiating.
Burial will be follow at 3 p.m. at Cleveland Memorial Park, Boiling Springs, N.C.
Members of the Bledsoe Class Adults 3C of Northside Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family received friends Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, S.C., and will receive friends at other times at the home, 2300 Bobwhite Lane, West Columbia, S.C., at the home of his son, 116 Kristen Court, West Columbia, and at the home of his daughter, 235 Reynord Circle, West Columbia. His parents will receive friends today at their home, 211 Hudson St., Shelby.
Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church Building Fund, 1303 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia, SC 29169.
