Ellie Gold

SHELBY — Mrs. Ellie Campbell Gold, 87, of 211 Hudson St., died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at home.

Born in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late J. J. and Evie Lee Campbell and retired as district manager for Sarah Coventry Jewelry. Mrs. Gold graduated from Hollis High School and was a member of Westview Baptist Church and Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and James Gold; two brothers, Robert and Julian Campbell; one sister, Lucy Blanton; one grandson, Danny Cummings; and two great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Griffin B. Gold, of the home; sons and wives, Bill Gold and wife, Pat, of Forest City, Dan Gold and wife, Pat, of Winston-Salem, Doug Gold and wife, Klementine, of Shelby, and Phil Gold and wife, Dianna, of Lexington, S.C.; daughters, Lib Revels and husband, Larry, and Margaret Cummings and husband, Jim, all of Shelby; brother, Jimmy Campbell and wife, Becky, of Ellenboro; sister, Ruby Elliott of Greenville, S.C.; sister-in-law, Louise Campbell of Shelby; 21 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Westview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Ellis officiating. The body will be placed in the church 90 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Cleveland Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Life Enrichment Center, 103 T. R. Harris Drive, Shelby, NC 28150; or Eastern Star, 1436 E. Marion St., Shelby, NC 28150.
