Notes about Johannes Theodorus Verkleij


Jan Verkleij bought the farm "Brentano's Yvervrught" in 1914 in the Ridderbuurt near Alphen a/d Rijn.
He and his wife, Maria Suidgeest had nine children. One drowned, one had a farm accident and one lived for two days only.[see their notes]
Jan played the organ in the St. Bonifacius church for 40 years and was known to be able to set the mood of the congregation through his talent of improvizing.
He also composed many pieces of music. It was normal to compose a cantata for four voices for mother's birthday and then gave his children 10 minutes to learn it, (and they did !)
